Alucobond® Plus Material Gleams at Plaza Midtown

Opened in early 2006, The Plaza Midtown in Atlanta is a mixed-use development featuring residential condominiums in two 20-story towers, and 70,000 sq. ft. of neighborhood retail. The gleaming twin towers of Silver Metallic Alucobond® Plus Material and glass are located on a 3.3-acre site that covers an entire city block, from Eighth St. to Peachtree Place between Spring and West Peachtree Streets. Directly accessible to the I-75/I-85 connector, this is part of a dynamic area with market growth that is drawing urban professionals and development.

More than 53,000 sq. ft. of Alucobond Plus Material in 4mm thickness was installed in 2,379 panels, designed and fabricated by the installing subcontractor, Miller-Clapperton Partnership of Austell, Georgia. The attachment system was the MCP System 100. General contractor was Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC of Kennesaw, Georgia.

Headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama with a regional office in Atlanta, Daniel Corporation developed the residential component; Atlanta-based Selig Enterprises, Inc. owns, leases and manages the retail. Architect was Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart & Associates, Inc. of Atlanta — “an internationally established design firm providing innovative professional services for corporate, commercial, hospitality, residential, industrial, government and educational projects.” Additional information is available at www.srssa.com. This is an award-winning project — The Plaza Midtown received the 2005 Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Best in Atlanta Real Estate Award in the mixed-use/special use category.

Luxurious residences at The Plaza Midtown can boast such features as: spectacular views; floor-to-ceiling high-performance glass; large balconies; 10’ ceilings; walk-in closets; desired materials such as granite, tile, quality woods, and stainless steel. The Plaza Club is one acre of outdoor park with full-sized trees and manicured gardens—six stories up—featuring its own swimming pool and clubhouse.
