Alcan Composites USA Inc. has headquarters in Benton, Kentucky, where the first North American production of Alucobond® Material took place in the late 1970's. Intended primarily for the architectural market, Alucobond Material was the first aluminum/plastic composite of its kind. The product line has grown to include such products as Alucobond® Plus Material, specifically designed to address current building code criteria for high-rise and non-combustible construction. The products have been used in the fabrication of curtainwall systems and cladding for more than 50,000 buildings worldwide, and for interiors and signage. The company has a sales office in St. Louis, MO.
Alcan Composites USA Inc. is one of the companies that comprise the global business unit known as Alcan Composites. Other sister companies manufacturing Alucobond Material are Alcan Composites Singen (Germany), Alcan Composites China in Shanghai, and Alcan Composites Brazil. For over 30 years, the Singen, Germany facility has been a leading supplier of aluminum composite panels. In 2002, the South American plant in Camacari Bahia State, Brazil was opened for Alucobond Material production. The Alcan Composites business unit is part of worldwide Alcan Inc., Canada.
