The new modern identity of the Estar Móveis furniture brand is mimicked in their new store’s interior and exterior design. Designed by SuperLimão Studio, the hexagonal facade resembles a honeycomb featuring powder-coated panels in sleek gunmetal grey.
Several panels are perforated to allow light to permeate the store’s interior, while other remain opaque. The unique façade creates a distinctive look amongst a neighborhood of lavish furniture showrooms and boutiques.
The interior features a combination of modern and classic building materials, using concrete beams, exposed brick and a heavy influx of natural light. The design firm placed metal shipping container doors within the storeroom, serving as a contrasting element to the interior features.
The architecture was based on a vision to “humanize” furniture showroom design. By escaping the seemingly pretentious vibes of contemporary furniture stores, Estar Móveis was seeking a more nostalgic take on design. The idea was to have the potential customer feel at home within their showroom, creating a certain amount of comfort to the buying experience.
