CoMED, a private residence in Vienna, Austria, features an impressively modern exterior design that utilizes an iridescent cladding material. The home is enveloped in Alucobond Spectra Galaxy Blue panels that were fabricated in a series of abstracted shapes. The exterior is exclusively metal and glass with black accents that are carried through the interior to create a fluid momentum when entering the home.

The same abstracted geometry is mimicked in the interior where shades of black and white break up the contemporary space. The fiercely angled interior features a minimalistic color palette with whites, blacks and grays throughout. The design, which is implemented on the exterior as well, is futuristic as if taking cues from science fiction.

The home is completely customized with fitted furniture to allow everything its own space within the four-story home. The ground floor features a living and dining area, and also provides access to the home’s balcony and pool. The upper two floors house the living quarters, workspaces and rooftop garden. The home features an abundance of modern amenities including a sauna and fitness room located in the home’s basement level.

Surrounded by traditional residential designs, CoMED embodies the modern architectural movement. The color-changing exterior reflects the sky alternating hues of blue and stands out against the lush garden encompassing the property. The dwelling offers extraordinary unobstructed views of Vienna.

Alucobond Spectra is a kaleidoscopic series that interacts with the sun. The playful finishes have reflective characteristics in addition to their color-changing solar properties. The finish is not often utilized in the residential market, making CoMED truly unique in its design.
