ALUCOBOND® PLUS Innovates with the Launch of its New Fire-Retardant Gray Core

New color boosts design capabilities and meets today’s fire performance requirements

Davidson, NC  – October 17, 2022 – 3A Composites USA is taking the innovative design and unparalleled performance of ALUCOBOND PLUS to the next level with the launch of its new gray core. Effective October 17, 2022 the color of the product’s solid, fire-retardant (FR) core — developed exclusively to meet fire performance requirements  — has been updated to gray from its original shade of white. This product design enhancement was achieved through modifications to the formulation that allows for greater design flexibility while still maintaining the product’s superior fire performance rating.

“Our team of product engineers have managed to make the ACM panel that architects and fabricators have trusted for more than 50 years, even better,” boasted Nick Scheib,  general manager, Architectural Division, 3A Composites Americas. “ALUCOBOND PLUS already offered superior versatility and fire safety, but by listening and responding to the architectural community, they’ve evolved the product to allow increased flexibility in design.”

ALUCOBOND PLUS, is a differentiator in the marketplace because it fulfills design and performance requirements while maintaining its fire-retardant properties.

ALUCOBOND PLUS, now with a gray core

  • Meets the highest level of fire performance
  • Provides ease of fabrication
  • Delivers a beautiful, uniform look
  • Reduces shadow lines
  • Serves as a UV inhibitor

ALUCOBOND PLUS with gray core reduces visibility of the product’s core, allowing it to blend in flawlessly, creating even more opportunities to customize and transform the façade of any building through perforated designs that allow natural light and enable enhanced aesthetic possibilities. In addition, the gray core provides a nearly seamless aesthetic  with the use of ALUCOBOND EasyFix. By using the ALUCOBOND EasyFix system, installers are also better equipped to efficiently install ALUCOBOND PLUS panels, helping them to meet tight construction timelines with less labor while completing more jobs.
